What was accomplished today? Not a heck of a lot. Six of the group trekked out to the Badenova Stadium, home of the Sport Club Freiburg Soccer team. We each purchased two student tickets for the July 9th 7pm game for €3 per ticket. In total we purchased 16 tickets for our group and Meredith’s boyfriend Al who is flying in to Frankfurt today. A few of us purchased clearance Nike pullovers/jackets and scarves for the game.
I diverged from the group to take my first stop at a German Post Office to send a postcard back home. The lady at the front door was able to help me in clear English and was very polite. I was happy to find out in just one week my €.75 postcard will arrive in WI. :) After the post office I stopped by EDENKA, a local chair grocery store to return a Ja Peach juice container for .25 and purchased a 1.5% Freiburg Weidemilch and croissant from the K%U Bakery located inside. The vineyard I first encountered when I arrived in Freiburg caught my eye once more as I decided to rest between two Isabelle grape vines and soak up a few rays, send a few emails back home and read up on WI dairy news in the middle of the city. I hope to explore a few more parks in Freiburg tomorrow since I have been only visiting the ones I know recently.
A group of ten of us had dinner at Suden. Many of us ordered some variation of Flamkuchen, the Vauban special with mushrooms and spinach in my case. It was a delicious 6.70 treat for the end of the day. Our travels to Barcelona and Pamplona were discussed and almost finalized over dinner. Another hour of research gave us enoguh reason to book one more double room at the Hotal Navarra downtown Pamplona. This will give us the flexibility to be staying just a few blocks from the beginning of the race and hopefully a higher chance of fitting all nine of us in two rooms that are really just made for three occupants.
Hopefully tomorrow is a more productive day than today. Lord I need to with this exam coming up and a big book report due for my internship class. How am I supposed to be reporting on an internship here in Freiburg that does not exist?
Picked up €3 futbol tickets for the 19th and slept in the park after a liter of milch and a kase(cheese) croissant.
